Duterte officially bans gov’t workers to attend team building activities abroad

- President Rodrigo Duterte signed an Executive Order to regulate the trips of the government workers

- The new order prohibits the government workers to have team building activities or workshops abroad

- In addition, only selected officials will be allowed to travel in a business-class

President Rodrigo Duterte has recently signed an executive order to officially prohibit all government officials and employees to have team building activities or workshops abroad.

KAMI learned that President Duterte signed the E.O. 77 last March 15. As reported by the GMA News (author Virgil Lopez), the new measure seeks to regulate the rates and allowances of the local and overseas trips of the public officials.

According to a report by Rappler (author Pia Ranada), the order also banned the government officials from sponsored trips.

In addition, only selected officials such as department secretaries, undersecretaries, and assistant secretaries will be allowed for a business-class flight and only during long flights or those that will last for more than 4 hours.
