President Rodrigo Duterte has recently aired strong words against the media once again. KAMI learned that the President claimed the media did not like him to be the country’s chief executive.
In a report by the GMA News (author Virgil Lopez), President Duterte said that the reason why he thought the media did not like him was that he did not come from the elite.
“In the first place, you did not want me to be President because I do not belong to any of the ruling elite in this country,” the President said.
“I am not your President. Manigas na kayo. Para sa tao ako, kasi ang tao ang nagboto sa akin,” he added.

Duterte shared that he is using foul language on purpose so that the media will have something to write about, as reported by the Inquirer (author Gabriel Pabico Lalu).
“Sabi nila bastos daw. Tama. Bastos talaga bunganga ko. P___ina pagka ganon kaharap ko, itong mga durugista pati itong bastos mga media, lalo ko ‘yan silang binabastos para lalong magsulat nang magtrabaho,” the President stated.
“Bigyan ko sila ng trabaho because in the end…Alam mo in the end, she will fight against herself. Ganon ‘yan eh,” he added.
Ever since President Duterte assumed his post, he has been throwing tirades against the media. In a previous report by KAMI, Duterte threatened the broadcasting network, ABS-CBN. He said that he will be opposing the contract renewal of the franchise for allegedly receiving money first but not airing the campaign ad later on.
