Senatorial candidate Jinggoy Estrada and businesswoman Janet Lim-Napoles were allowed by the Sandiganbayan anti-graft court to seek dismissal of their plunder case with regard to the alleged “pork barrel scam.”
KAMI learned that Estrada and Napoles were granted by the court to file a demurrer to evidence in their plunder case that seeks to dismiss the case due to lack of evidence.
In a report by ABS-CBN News (author Adrian Ayalin), Estrada and Napoles will be given the opportunity to give their own testimonials and present their evidence if the demurrer will be denied.

According to a report by the CNN Philippines (author AC Nicholls), Estrada was temporarily set free after posting P1 million bail. He was accused of kickbacking P183 million from the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF). Meanwhile, Napoles was accused of kickbacking P10 billion funds by putting it into fake non-government organizations.
Aside from Estrada and Napoles, Senate reelectionists Juan Ponce Enrile and Ramon "Bong" Revilla were accused of taking money from their PDAF for their personal benefit.
KAMI reported before that according to the Office of the Ombudsman, Estrada was facing enough evidence to be guilty of plunder based on the bank inquiry made by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC).
