The Metro Rail Transit line 3 (MRT-3) experienced another technical difficulty that led passengers to evacuate the train car immediately in between Cubao and Santolan stations on Monday.
KAMI learned that the train suddenly released smoke repeatedly which alarmed the passengers.
According to a report by the CNN Philippines, the unloading of the passengers happened at around 6:02 p.m., as confirmed by the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
A video uploaded by the Inquirer on Facebook showed how the passengers evacuated the train car and that there was smoke all over the area.

In a report by the Inquirer (author Faye Orellana), the MRT-3 management said that the smoke stemmed from a “short circuit in the high voltage wire of [a] traction motor.”
The management also added that the mentioned train car was at the MRT-3 depot in Quezon City to undergo repair. Around 645 passengers were affected by the incident and they all had to walk on the tracks to evacuate the area.
