Kapamilya actor Kiko Estrada willingly shared about a “dark phase” in his life and how he was able to overcome it through the years.

KAMI learned that the eye-opening revelation took place during the celebrity’s interview in the entertainment talk show program, “Tonight with Boy Abunda.”

The topic was brought up when the show’s host, Boy Abunda, asked Kiko to elaborate or explain further the unfortunate phase that he went through.

He explained that he was 19 years old when it first happened and it eventually got worse through time to the extent that he stopped going to school.

“There was no point in waking up. There was no point in eating, I have no motivation at all,” Kiko expressed.

“I wanted to act. Of course, ‘bago.’ I was throwing myself to get into character [because] I have to be good. And that pressure ate me up,” he added.

The celebrity also disclosed that during those times, he would drink excessively and would also take illegal substances.

“Pano mo ito nalampasan,” Boy Abunda curiously asked.

“I prayed every day and of course, I met someone that showed me purity and that there was hope,” Kiko answered.

He admitted to getting afraid that his mother, Cheska Diaz, would know that his son can no longer handle his life and wanted to kill himself.

“I wanted her not to think of anything when it comes to me,” he emphasized.

Kiko clarified that up to now, he has not forgiven himself yet and he wants to push more in life to climb up the pedestal wherein his grandfather, Paquito Diaz, and family can be proud of him.

“This is a punishment I am willing to take,” Kiko concluded.
