All customers of Manila Water will start experiencing water interruptions that will last between 6 to 21 hours daily. KAMI learned that the water service provider of more than six million Filipinos residing in the East Zone of Metro Manila has announced on Facebook the schedule of water interruption.
According to their Facebook post, there will be a longer schedule of water interruption starting March 14 and 15, 2019 due to their “operational adjustments” in order to restore their normal operation. In addition to that, the water interruption may last until May, after the summer season.
“Ang sitwasyong ito ay maaaring tumagal pa hanggang sa mga susunod na buwan sa tag-araw, kaya’t hinihiling namin ang higit ninyong pang-unawa,” it stated.

According to a report by the CNN Philippines, Manila Water spokesperson Jeric Sevilla said that the daily rotation of water supply will refill 27 reservoirs that can provide water supply to households who had water interruption for a week now.
The sudden water shortage has caused panic to many Filipinos. Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) chief regulator Patrick Ty said that the water shortage is the government’s “fault.”
"They're saying it's our fault. Yes, its our fault. It's everyone's fault because we have been delaying all these projects. Right now, we can't rely on Angat. It's just one source. We need an alternative water source and we need it yesterday," Ty said.
"It's the fault of the government because it is the responsibility of the government to source all this water. I would just like to make it clear that we are doing something about it," he added.
