President Rodrigo Duterte has recently accused women of depriving him of his own freedom of expression. KAMI learned that on his defense, the President said that he still loves women.
A Youtube video uploaded by the Manila Bulletin showed that during the awarding ceremony of the Outstanding Women in Law Enforcement and National Security, President Duterte said that he loves women.
“Basta ako, mahal ko ang babae. Kaya nga makita mo naman, dalawa ang asawa ko… Ibig sabihin talagang gusto ko ang babae,” President Duterte said.
“Hindi ibig sabihin na gusto kong galawin. Gusto ko lang ang babae,” he added.

However, despite his love for women, the President said that these women also deprived him of his right to freedom of expression.
“You know, you women, you have deprived me of my freedom of expression. Hindi ko sinasabi sa inyo ‘yan, but you criticize every sentence or word I say,” the President said.
“But, that is my freedom to express myself. Even if I’m just a President, do not take me away from the crowd of being a Filipino citizen,” he added.
According to a report by the Yahoo! Philippines, President Duterte also referred to women as “p*ta” in front of the outstanding female members of the military and police.
