House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo said that the Philippine Statistics Authority has confirmed that they will be having the launching of National ID registration in September.
KAMI learned that around 6 million registered Filipinos and resident aliens with age at least 5 years old will be receiving their national ID.

In a report of the Manila Bulletin, the PSA will be prioritizing the indigents, persons with disabilities, and government workers in the key areas during the first batch of National ID registration.
The registration is free of charge and the registrant will be given a permanent Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) number. However, the actual ID will be issued a few days after all the information is verified.

President Rodrigo Duterte signed the Philippine Identification System or National ID Law (R.A. 11055) in August 2018. The aforementioned ID can be used in different government transactions.
