- Mon Tulfo was urged to resign from his post after calling the Filipino workers “lazy”
- However, Tulfo insisted that he will not apologize nor will he quit his post
- The Special Envoy to China also raised his “bad finger” to respond to the labor groups
Labor group Trade Union Congress of the Philippines called on Mon Tulfo to resign from his post after the Special Envoy to China said that Filipino workers are “lazy” and “slowpoke.”
KAMI learned that Tulfo raised his “bad finger” to respond to the labor groups that urged him to quit his post.
During Tulfo’s interview with GMA News, Tulfo insisted that it was the developers who claimed that the Filipino workers are “lazy” compared to Chinese workers.
"Marami kasi akong natatanggap sa mga developers sa mga contractors na tamad talaga ang Pinoy, Pinoy construction workers dito sa bansa," Tulfo said.
“Mabagal sila magtrabaho, puro satsat, puro daldal, ang tagal ‘pag meryenda,” he added.

Tulfo also said that he will not be apologizing for his controversial remark and that he will not be resigning from his post.
“Ito. Bakit ako magbibitiw? Wala naman akong ginawang masama," the Special Envoy said.
As previously reported by KAMI, Tulfo shared on social media that he will not be apologizing for what he said because he just pointed out the “truth.” The Palace has also spoken regarding the controversy.
