Mixed martial artist and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Conor McGregor was arrested for allegedly stealing and smashing a fan’s phone after trying to take a photo of the UFC icon.

KAMI learned that McGregor was charged with robbery and criminal mischief. The UFC champ was being held on a $12,500 bail.

According to a report by the Fox News (author Nicole Darrah), McGregor was outside the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel at around 5 a.m. when the incident happened. As stated in the police report, a fan was trying to take a photo of McGregor and then he “slapped the victim's phone out of his hand, causing it to fall to the floor."

Later on, the 30-year-old fighter stomped on the fan’s phone too many times until it got totally destroyed. It was also reported that the fighter allegedly brought the phone with him and walked away with it. According to the victim, the phone costs around $1,000.

Just hours after, McGregor was released from Turner Guildford Knight Correctional Center in Miami after posting bail.

Last January 29, McGregor was suspended from playing in the UFC for six months when he was involved in a post-fight brawl with another UFC champ, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

There were also reports by the Business Insider before that in April 2018, McGregor was charged with assault and criminal mischief for allegedly attacking a bus full of UFC fighters in New York.

Born on July 14, 1988, Conor Anthony McGregor is an Irish UFC fighter. He was the former featherweight and lightweight champion. He started his career in boxing back in 2017 when he fought against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and got defeated.
