The Korean Oppa with a Pinoy heart, Ryan Bang was asked to eat balut, a Filipino food, during a live episode of It's Showtime!
The video of the said episode immediately went viral on social media, with more than 230, 000 views on Youtube, as of this writing.
KAMI learned that Ryan was asked by his co-hosts, Vhong Navarro and Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, to eat balut during their Tawag ng Tanghalan segment.
Vhong and Mariel were doing their interview with one of the TNT daily contenders who happened to be a balut vendor.
Surprisingly, the said contestant brought with him a basket full of balut.
Vhong said that here in the Philippines, it has always been our tradition to let foreigners eat balut.
"...pag sa'tin daw may mga dayuhan, may mga foreigner, pinapakain daw ang balut. Sino ba ang foreigner sa'tin?", Vhong said.
Ryan took the challenge without any hesitations. We all know that "The Korean Oppa" has never backed down in any challenge given to him.
The rest of the hosts, such as Vhong and Kim Chiu, and Amy Perez, also ate the famous Filipino delicacy, in the Kapamilya show.
Only Anne Curtis and Mariel who did not get one to eat.
