Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio defended Senate candidate Imee Marcos and her educational background amid the controversies that the Senate bet was not able to complete her degrees in University of the Philippines College of Law and Princeton University.
KAMI learned that according to Duterte-Carpio, honesty should not be an issue this election period. She also answered the criticisms of the netizens that the main issue was about Marcos “lying” about her college degree.
"Kasi sinasabi nila the issue is not about a college degree but honesty, so ano'ng gagawin natin sa kanila?" Duterte-Carpio said.
Later on, Duterte-Carpio has addressed the criticisms being thrown against the administration of her father, President Rodrigo Duterte.
"Ano'ng gagawin natin sa kanila na they deliberately say false statements onstage about, against the administration of President Duterte? So lahat sila sinungaling. Lahat ng tao sa mundong ito sinungaling,” she added, as reported by ABS-CBN News.
“Walang isang kandidato diyan na hindi nagsisinungaling kaya hindi dapat nagiging issue ang honesty ngayon,” the Davao City Mayor said.
Duterte-Carpio also mentioned about the accusation of Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano against former aide Bong Go. Alejano accused the former aide of using the government’s funds and the barangay officials for his personal campaign.
“Tulad ni Alejano, nagsisinungaling. Wala naman siyang proof to say na galing sa public funds ang t-shirts,” the Presidential daughter said.
Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said that Alejano’s accusations was all “fake news” and that he won’t allow any irregularity in his department, as reported by the Philippine Star.
KAMI reported earlier that Alejano accused Go of giving away free shirts during the Liga ng Barangay National Assembly. The shirts that were allegedly distributed during the even had the name and face of Go. However, the former aide has denied these allegations.
