Presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio shared that she has finally spoken with Senatorial candidate Imee Marcos about the latter’s educational background.
KAMI learned that Duterte-Carpio told Marcos that a college degree is not a requirement when running for any position may it be for the presidency or vice presidency.
“Sinabi ko naman sa kanya, in any event, whatever it is, the law, our Constitution only requires for the president, vice-president, and senators to be able to read and write and she can very well do that given her track record as governor,” Duterte-Carpio said, as reported by ABS-CBN News.
The Davao City mayor also said that Marcos will be releasing an official statement about her educational background.
Marcos is part of the regional party “Hugpong ng Pagbabago” led by Duterte-Carpio.
KAMI reported before that Marcos claimed she graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law and Princeton University. However, while both universities confirmed that Marcos studied there, they said that they have no records showing that Marcos finished her studies and earned a degree.
