Senate candidate and Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano accused former aide and Senate bet Christopher “Bong” Go of using government funds to distribute his campaign shirts during the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas National Assembly.
KAMI learned that according to Alejano, even the kit, registration fee, and other expenses were from the government funds, as stated in the Memorandum Circular 2019-23 of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Alejano claimed that the registration fee has a total of P13,800 to P19,800 which covered the hotel accommodation, meals, and bags with other materials for the 3-day event, as reported by Rappler.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, Go has denied his involvement with the shirts given during the event that showed his name and face. The former aide also urged his supporters not to use his name without consent.
KAMI reported before that Go assured the public he was not using the taxpayers’ money for his campaign. He said that if it is proven that he is using government funds, then Filipinos should not vote for him.
Go was also the biggest spender among the Senate candidates even before the campaign period started. However, Go refused to name his campaign donors.
