Vice President Leni Robredo has indirectly called out Senate candidate Imee Marcos for allegedly lying about earning a degree from Princeton University and University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law.

KAMI learned that on the radio program of Robredo, the BISERbisyong Leni that airs weekly on RMN-dzXL, the vice president criticized a certain Senatorial aspirant for not joining senatorial debates. However, she did not mention any names.

“Pinakamahirap kasi ‘yung iba talaga nakakasinungaling ng dire-diretso…‘Yung ano na lang pag-aaral sa U.P and Princeton, ‘di ba may kasinungalingan pa,” Robredo said, as reported by the Manila Bulletin (author Raymund Antonio).

The vice president also insisted that the Senate slate of regional party “Hugpong ng Pagbabago”, led by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, should attend the debates so that the voters will know how they would address certain issues.

“Yung mga kandidato natin pumupunta, ‘yung iba kandidato pumupunta pero sila, lalo na ‘yung okay sa (pre-election) survey, hindi na sila pumupunta,” Robredo said.

“So paano malalaman ng mga tao ‘yung mga issue na either laban sa kanila or mga paniniwala nilang tinatayuan, pakiramdam nila sa mga issue,” she added.

In a previous report by KAMI, The Daily Princetonian, the official student newspaper of Princeton University, has published an article that said Marcos “falsely claimed” that she actually graduated from the University.

KAMI also reported before that Marcos insisted she earned a degree from UP and Princeton. She also showed the "proof" of her graduation in UP. However, records showed that Marcos entered and studied in both universities but she was not awarded a degree.
