Television host Arnell Ignacio has tendered his resignation as the deputy administrator of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). KAMI learned that Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III has accepted Ignacio’s resignation.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, Ignacio did not disclose any reason behind his sudden resignation. However, he said that he would be holding a press briefing within this week.
According to a report by GMA News, OWWA has confirmed the resignation of Ignacio. According to Bello, the former deputy administrator resigned due to personal reasons.
Ignacio was one of the supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte from the entertainment industry, during his Presidential bid in 2016.
The television host was appointed by President Duterte to the OWWA in 2018. Ignacio also served as the assistant vice president for community relations and services of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
