A social media post claiming that Davao City is more developed than the city of Manila, the capital of the Philippines, went viral online. However, KAMI learned that the photos used to compare both cities were misleading.

According to a report by ABS-CBN News, the Facebook post that was published by a page supporting Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio’s regional party, Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), has been shared thousands of times on the Internet. It stated in the caption that Davao is richer than Manila.

“Sa mga mayayabang na tagaManila kahet saan talo pa ren kayo sa Davao City. Mas mayaman patin ang Davao City kesa sa Manila,” the caption read.

A French news agency named Agence France-Presse (AFP) has conducted a reverse image search only to find out that the post was misleading.
