Pope Francis told the clergy on Wednesday that those who accuse the church are “friends, cousins, relatives of the devil.” KAMI learned that Pope Francis has addressed the church’s issue against abuse and other “defects.”

In a report by Inquirer, detractors and former Vatican ambassador to the United States, have accused the pontiff of not properly handling the cases with regard to priests and bishops who are suspected abusers.

“Those who spend their lives accusing, accusing, accusing are, I will not say children because the devil has none, but friends, cousins, relatives of the devil,” Pope Francis said.

“No, this is not right! The defects must be pointed out to correct, but, since the defects are signaled, the defects are denounced, so the Church is loved,” the pontiff added.

Pope Francis also said that the children of the Church are all sinners.

“The Church is Holy, the bride of Christ, but we children of the Church are all sinners, of the big ones, eh!” the pontiff said.
