- A one-year-old toddler was accidentally locked inside her parents' car
- Prisoners in the area, under the supervision of police officers, helped in the rescue process
- It was the prisoners' "lockpicking" skills that finally got the car open
It isn't all the time that prisoners get praised when they break into something, but the recent incident in Florida will be an exception.
KAMI learned that several inmates helped in rescuing a toddler who was trapped inside her parents' car.
According to Huffington Post's report, the prisoners were repairing medians in the parking lot right outside the courthouse when they became aware of the dire situation.
Sheriff Chris Nocco of Pasco County then asked the prisoners if they could break into the car.
He also said they only did it in the presence of the sheriffs. After all, the prisoners were low-level-offenders.
And after some time of using their unconventional skills to open the car, they were able to open it.
A cute tearful toddler met them, and the parents express their gratitude to the prisoners.
According to the mom, it was her husband who "absentmindedly" left the car keys inside forgetting all the other doors were locked.
It is truly a great day for prisoners as a couple of them proved that the stripes on their uniform do not simply connote that they're automatically vile.
Here are some reactions from netizens:
Face it...those boys do have skills! And compassion, as they are people too!! I’ll bet they felt great being able to do something positive while they were off grounds. That one good deed could change their whole mindset, ya never know!! Nice job, fellas!
That was so nice of them but one thing for sure if my child was "accidentally " locked in a vehicle, im breaking my window without a care in the world
Not all criminals are bad people. Some are good people that just made a bad decision. ❣️
Not all heroes wear capes ❤️ some wear jumpsuits
Great job cops, sit back and watch the criminals do what they do best. Lmbo. I hope they get a day off for good behavior. Surly a locksmith couldn’t be called. Ps all cops I know have legit jimmy sticks in their patrol cars.
