KAMI was given the opportunity to witness the LizQuen love team portray the roles of Christine and Raf who have been a couple for three years.
LizQuen attended a block screening for the benefit of the ICanServe Foundation, an organization supporting patients with cancer.
Christine is an Arts Studies major student at the University of the Philippines. She is very ambitious and she has her life already planned out. Meanwhile, Raf is a Biology student at the University of Santo Tomas who is still trying to figure out his life.
However, there is more to their college romance.
Alone/Together is not your typical LizQuen love story and here are the 6 reasons why:
Alone/Together might be the most mature film of LizQuen so far. Aside from romance, there is a lot to learn about adulthood or as what Millennials call it, “#Adulting."
As the couple navigate their lives from being college students to being actual professionals pursuing their dreams, their journey could be relatable to those experiencing “mid-year life crisis.”
2. Philippine Art appreciation
LizQuen’s newest film has been a great platform to showcase the Philippine Art and a glimpse of our history. It will remind you of nationalism and patriotism. It also urges you to support our own local films, paintings, and even museums.
3. Nostalgic: The 90’s vibes
Alone/Together will take you down memory lane. Watching the film will give you a nostalgic feeling through their OST like JM De Guzman’s version of hit-song “214” and OPM band Eraserhead’s “Spoliarium.”
The film offers not just romantic love. It also shows that loving yourself is very important even if you are single or in a relationship. It reminds you to take good care of yourself in order to love and to serve other people as well.
5. Infidelity is a concern
As seen in their trailer, Christine or Tin is in a relationship with Greg (Luis Alandy), while Raf is in a relationship with Aly (Jasmine Curtis-Smith). Tin and Raf have met again and started wondering their what-ifs while still in their respective relationships. This might strike concerns in terms of infidelity.
6. More and more plot twists!
Alone/Together has many unexpected turns that even the audience will start thinking of their own “what-ifs”. Every life decision of the film's character has led to surprising outcomes and it is for you to witness with your own eyes!
Alone/Together is now showing in more than 300 cinemas nationwide. Make sure not to miss it!
