Pres. Rodrigo Duterte reacts to death rumors

- Rumors about President Rodrigo Duterte's death circulated online following his absence from an event in Leyte last Friday

- In a video, PRD dismissed rumors about his passing on Friday

- The president made fun of the online rumors, and at one point even asked people to pray for his soul

The president's detractors were not wasting time in sabotaging him. Following his absence from an event in Leyte last Friday, rumors about his death circulated online.

Honeylet Avanceña, President Duterte's partner posted videos of him on Facebook making fun of the rumors and even quipped asking people to pray for his soul.

"For those who believe in the news that I passed away, then I request of you, please pray for me, for the eternal repose of my soul. Thank you," the president said.

"Ano mga mensahe ninyo? Dadalhin ko. Pari, obispo, lahat. And 'yung last wish ng mga durugista, ilista ninyo. Ako na ang magdala doon sa langit o sa impyerno. Depende lang." he added in another video.

Bong Go did not provide other details about the state of the 73-year-old chief executive's health who was said to be suffering from a serious illness.

PRD attended the premiere night of the biopic of former police chief Ronald dela Rosa last Tuesday.

Rodrigo Roa Duterte also known as Digong and Rody, is the 16th and the current Philippine President and the first from Mindanao, At 71 years old, Duterte is the oldest person to assume the Philippine Presidency. He was among the longest-serving mayors in the Philippines, serving seven terms or more than 22 years in office.
