The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has released the official final lists of the Senate candidates and party-lists who are qualified to run in the upcoming May polls.
KAMI learned that out of 152, only 63 candidates for the Senate race were allowed by the Comelec to run. From 185, only 134 party-lists were greenlit by the Comelec to participate in the polls as reported by GMA News.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said that the released lists are final.
Senate candidates Sergio Osmeña III and Koko Pimentel were included in the official list despite the controversies linked to them that could actually disqualify them.
