- The widow of the soldier killed in the Jolo blasts recalled the last message of her husband
- She shared that they were still able to exchange messages before the explosions happened
- It was just three weeks ago when the slain soldier was able to be with his family
A soldier was killed by the bombing that happened in the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cathedral in Jolo, Sulu last Sunday. KAMI learned that Cpl. Minard Jann Ocier just went home three weeks ago to be with his family in Bukidnon.
The widow of Ocier, Maricris, recalls her husband’s last words to her before the explosions happened as reported by ABS-CBN News.
“Sunday morning, pag gising ko nag-text pa ako sa kaniya, around 7 nag-reply siya sa akin sabi niya ‘Good morning mommy, I love you’,” Mariciris said.
Maricris said that Ocier went home last January 10 to celebrate his birthday with them.
Unfortunately, Ocier was one of the 21 killed when two consecutive bombings happened in Jolo. Ocier has left his two daughters.
Maricris now leaves it up to God in terms of redeeming justice on what happened to her husband.
“Diyos na ang bahala. Kasi pag patayin daw ang gumawa nito sa kaniya ‘di na maibabalik ang buhay ng asawa ko,” Maricris said.
As previously reported by KAMI, President Rodrigo Duterte visited the Jolo church where the explosions happened. He also visited the families of the victims and extended his condolences. President Duterte has made it clear that his goal was to protect the Filipinos and whoever did the attack will be paying for it.
