Alain Robert also known as the “French Spiderman” has landed in jail after the Makati City Police apprehended him. KAMI learned that the police immediately went to the scene when Robert was climbing the GT Tower in Makati.
In a report by GMA News, the 56-year old ‘French Spiderman’ was charged with “Alarms and Scandal and other forms of Trespass” after climbing the 7th tallest building in Makati without permission.
Robert did not successfully finish climbing the building since the Makati City Police was already waiting at the ground to apprehend him. Robert’s lawyer, Atty. Howard Calleja was trying to speak with the police to avoid Robert’s arrest who has been climbing high-rise structures for 30 years.
As previously reported by KAMI, Robert was seen climbing the GT Tower during the usual rush hours in Makati City.
Born on August 7, 1962, Robert is a known urban climber. He was able to climb famous structures like Petronas Towers, Empire State Building, and Sydney Opera House.
