Russian President Vladimir Putin offered to assist the Philippines in fighting against terrorism after the twin bombings at a church in Jolo, Sulu that caused at least 20 deaths and around 100 injured.
KAMI learned that the Russian government is ready to combat all the terrorist threats against the Philippines as reported by Manila Bulletin.
“I would like to reiterate our readiness to further step up interaction with our Philippine partners in combating the terrorist threat in all its forms and manifestations,” Putin said.
The Russian President also extended his condolences to the victims of the Jolo attack.
“People in Russia share the grief of the victims’ friends and families and hope for a prompt recovery of the injured,” the Russian President said.
“A crime committed against civilians who had congregated for church services is shocking in its cynicism and cruelty. I expect that the masterminds and perpetrators of this crime will sustain the punishment they deserve,” he added.
In a report by CNN Philippines, the Palace shared that there is no specific form yet on what the Russian government would be assisting the Philippines. However, it could be in terms of military equipment or intelligence information.
