Award-winning director Lore Reyes finally spoke up about the controversial issue that he is currently facing involving actor Robin Padilla.

KAMI learned that celebrity lambasted the said filmmaker after knowing that he blocks social media friends who promote the film, “Bato: The Gen. Ronald Dela Rosa Story.”

According to Robin, he could not fathom how a person close to the field of filmmaking heavily linked politics to the movie.

"Dahil lang sa pulitika? Ganun na ba tayo kababaw na?” he exclaimed.

“Sabi ko, ‘tong mga taong ito... alam n'yo minsan dapat ang pagkakaintindi natin sa isang bagay, malawak,” the actor added.

Because of this, the veteran filmmaker aired strong response to the words thrown by Robin during his recent interview.

He expressed through PEP.ph that he will fight for his principles and that he will maintain having an “active” political posture.

This, he added, is despite receiving numerous negative comments on his social media accounts mainly pertaining to his stand on political matters.

“I stand by my principles and will persist in critizing bad governance, plundering of the national treasury, and the pervading air of injustice, fear and intimidation, and non-accountability.

“Recently, angry words have been hurled at my person on account of statements I’ve made in public posts on Facebook.

"Cursing me and calling me names will not change my active political posture.

"My friends were murdered by Marcos while they were trying to defend our rights and freedoms. I will never betray them, and the ideals that they died for,” Direk Lore quipped.

In a previous article by KAMI, the complaint of Robin about the aforementioned director and the people who threaten to boycott his film was reported.

Robin Padilla is considered as the “Prince of Philippines Cinemas.” He is known for portraying gangster roles in several movies. Aside from this, he is an avid supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte.
