SM Mall of Asia globe lights up to honor 'Tatang' Henry Sy Sr.

The remarkable globe at the SM Mall of Asia lit up to honor the late Henry Sy Sr. who is also called by most people who know him as “Tatang”.

KAMI learned that there was a message on the globe which said: “Thank you, Tatang!” as reported by ABS-CBN News.

“Tatang” is what the children of Sy used to call him as well as the people close to him.

Last January 23 was the last day of public viewing of Sy’s remains. The interment is set to happen today, Thursday.

The netizens also joined the ‘#ThankYouTatang’ trend as a way of paying respects to Sy. Here are some of their tweets:

In a previous report by KAMI, Sy, Philippine’s richest man and founder of SM Group passed away at the age of 94 on January 19. It was announced that the tycoon died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday morning.

KAMI also reported before that President Rodrigo Duterte visited the wake of Sy to pay his last respects and stayed there for about an hour.
