- Anne Curtis is known for being close to children
- In fact, she is a Unicef Celebrity Advocate for Children
- That's why she is against the proposed law of lowering age of criminal liability to 9 years old
Anne Curtis unhesitatingly opposed the bill seeking to lower the age of criminal responsibility to 9 years old.
She tweeted about it and said that the proposed law really saddens her.
"Nakakalungkot isipan na ibaba nila ang criminal responsibility to the age of 9. At that age, they are still very much children," she wrote.
"They still have a chance to change their ways if they happen to cause or get into any trouble instead of being sent to jail & sentenced as an adult," she added.
Moreover, her tweet garnered mixed reactions from the netizens. Some agreed to her statement while some explained the positive side of the bill.
