An OFW went viral after she shared how she successfully saved P140,000 in a matter of six months.
KAMI learned that the viral OFW, 39-year-old Jalyn Navio is an Ilongga who started working in Hong Kong way back in 2002.
According to Readers Portal, her parents didn't know that the nursing graduate is already an OFW in Hong Kong.
She used to be married to a seaman but their marriage didn't work.
What inspired her to save was the seminar she attended entitled Financial Literacy Seminar of CARD Hong Kong Foundation.
The inspiring story of Jalyn was shared by her friend, Jennifer Palomo Debaja on Facebook.
In six months, she saved HK$ 21,760, roughly translated to P140,000.
She simply used a huge plastic bottle and put all her savings there.
Jalyn would receive HK$ 8,200 every month, or P54,000 but would send P10,000 of it to the education of relatives.
After some discipline, letting go of her desire to shop and all, by saving all the HK$ 20, she reached her P140K in 6 months.
Next goal for Jalyn is to save all HK$50! Kudos to ate!
