There have been reports going around that People’s Champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao has been facing an career-threatening eye injury he got when he fought with Adrien Broner. However, KAMI learned that Pacquiao is doing just fine.
In a report by Inquirer, Buboy Fernandez, trainer of Pacquiao said that people should not worry about the boxing icon’s injured left eye.
“Broner was pressing his left glove on Manny and it rubbed on his eyes,” Fernandez said.
“I saw Broner doing that because he was trying to launch that [Juan Manuel] Marquez punch on Manny,” he added.
According to Fernandez, doctors already checked Pacquiao’s eyes after complaining that he lost his vision and that he was in pain right after the match. Doctors also advised that Pacquiao should rest his eyes for three days.
“The important thing is that our champion is safe,” Fernandez said.
There had been conflicts with the reports when an international media said that according from their source from Pacman’s camp, the boxing icon may retire due to the injury since he was allegedly suffering from a detached retina.
However, another report said that Pacquiao has been experiencing corneal scratches which he also suffered from even before.
As previously reported by KAMI, the netizens admired Pacquiao for fighting even though he had flu according to some reports.
Born on December 17, 1978, Pacquiao is a boxer turned politician who has been serving in the Senate. He is married to Jinkee Pacquiao and they have five children. Pacquiao retained his WBA regular welterweight title when he won against Broner.
