Controversy arose from the final press conference of the upcoming fight between Filipino Senator Manny Pacquiao and American fighter Adrien Broner.

KAMI learned that Broner hurled racist comments against the Filipino fans who were present at the event.

The American’s insults involved the racial stereotype that Asians eat cats and dogs.

“Adrien Broner tells Filipino Pacquiao supporters ‘I got a cat for you for dinner’ and ‘I got some sautéed German Shepherd for you in the back,’” according to sports writer Ryan Songalia.

Netizens were enraged by Broner’s comments:

“Sad. The man will be fighting for the 70th time, and at the elite level, where's the good grace from Broner and his team towards Manny for that? Of course they want to win, but instead of being respectful, they posture and smirk as he reels off racist stereotypes. Not cool.”

“Broner is just trying to get people to buy the fight . Disrespectful way of doing it. I’m a Manny fan but I’m definitely not buying that fight”

“Broner thinks we Filipinos are soft like them other Asians lol he will know what I’m talking about after he wakes up in the canvas Saturday.”
