- A local prosecutor filed a case of grave threat against the senator
- Trillanes was accused of threatening the life of Labor Undersecretary Jacinto Paras
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV is facing another case yet again. KAMI learned that a local prosecutor filed a complaint against the senator due to grave threat.
In a report by GMA News, the senator was accused of threatening to kill Labor Undersecretary Jacinto Paras. Trillanes’ arraignment is scheduled on February 15 at the Branch 47 of Pasay Metropolitan Trial Court.
Paras alleged that Senator Trillanes told him “Yayariin kita”, when they saw each other at the Senate last May 2018.
“Ang lakas ng loob mo. Hindi magtatagal ang amo mo. Matatapos din yan. Yayariin kita. Mercenaryo ka. Yayariin kita,” said Trillanes according to Paras.
Senator Trillanes released a statement regarding the issue. According to him, President Rodrigo Duterte has reversed the justice system in the Philippines. He also accused the President of killing ordinary Filipinos, criticizing COA auditors, and bishops.
Trillanes said that he will face the case filed against him and that he will show them that he is not afraid.
As previously reported by KAMI, the Makati Regional Trial Court denied the plea of Senator Trillanes with regard to his rebellion case.
