President Rodrigo Duterte shared that he is eyeing to declare total ban of firecrackers in the entire country. KAMI learned that President Duterte is planning to issue an executive order regarding this.
"I will issue the executive order this early para warning na doon sa lahat that I am banning firecracker altogether," President Duterte said as reported by GMA News.
"I will ban firecrackers. Wala na... Bakit ako papayag na noon 700 dead tapos maski isang bata lang mawalaan ng kamay. As a president, why would I allow it?" he added.

According to the report of ABS-CBN News, 4, 305 people got burn and eye injuries due to use of firecrackers from December 21 to January 4 as per Department of Health (DOH).
President Duterte issued Executive Order No. 28 to limit the use of firecrackers in the country.
In a previous report by KAMI, there are firecrackers prohibited in the Philippines according to the Republic Act 7183 or the act to regulate the sale, manufacture, distribution, and use of firecrackers and other pyrotechnic devices.
