Pacquiao, Sotto lead senatorial race among celebrity bets

Sports and cultural icons respectively, representative Manny Pacquiao of United Alliance Nation (UNA) and re-electionist Vicente “Tito” Sotto of National People’s Coalition (NPC) are currently securing positions in the Magic 12 of the senatorial race based on the unofficial tally results by Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

Currently, Pacquiao has been switching from 9 to 11 place, already garnering more than twelve million votes as of May 9.

Meanwhile, Sotto has been battling with Liberal Party bets Joel Villanueva and Franklin Drilion on the top spot after garnering more than 14 million votes already.

Other celebrity candidates vying to become a senator are still struggling to enter the top 12.

Former actor and Manila vice-mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso of Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino is currently playing from 14 to 16 position with more than nine million garnered votes.

Independent candidate and actor Edu Manzano is static in the 20 to 21 spot with more than four million votes.

Another UNA bet Vanessa Lacsamana, better known as Alma Moreno, is currently ranked 23 to 24 with more than one million votes.

Currently, Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. is the only celebrity in the senatorial house.

The official canvassing and proclamation of winners in the polls will take place from May 13 to 15.
