Boxing icon and People’s Champ Manny Pacquio was a one of the guests during the “Filipino Heritage Night” of NBA team Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. KAMI learned that during the appearance of Pacquiao, he met another boxing icon, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, Pacquio was able to witness the match of Clippers against Charlotte Hornets. Pacquiao even visited the locker room of Clippers and took pictures with the players.
Pacquiao also shared a moment with Clippers coach Doc Rivers. The coach shared that Pacquiao gave him his boxing gloves and are still displayed at his house.
Boxing Online reported that Pacquiao’s boxing rival, Mayweather Jr. was also present during the game. They even shook hands after Pacquiao tossed freebie shirts to the crowd.
Bringing the Pinoy pride in Los Angeles along with Pacquiao was Apl.de.Ap of iconic music group Black Eyed Peas. He also performed during the halftime.
KAMI reported before that Pacquiao’s next opponent, Adrien Broner was reported to be arrested in Florida. However, their match is set to happen on January 19 in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao is also set to have rematch with Mayweather. However, there had been changes with the schedule.
Born on December 17, 1978, Pacquiao currently ranks as the 4th greatest pound for pound boxers of all time by BoxRec. Besides being an iconic boxer, Pacquiao is also serving as a Philippine senator.
