It has been reported that 478 devotees sought medical assistance during the first few hours of Traslacion this 2019. KAMI learned that according to Philippine Red Cross, 348 Filipinos went through blood pressure monitoring as of 10 AM.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, there were 8 “major cases” of dizziness, difficulty of breathing, and laceration. Meanwhile, 118 individuals experienced fainting, abrasion, bruises, and even toothache.
3 individuals were reported rushed to the hospital and one person needed psychosocial intervention, according to Red Cross.
On the other hand, GMA News reported that as of 9 AM, a total of 144 devotees were brought to medical stations along the Traslacion.
The annual procession started at 5 AM. As of 10 AM, around 1.03 million devotees gathered to participate. The Traslacion is expected to last up to 24 hours this time before it gets back to the Quiapo church.
In a previous report by KAMI, thousands of devotees flocked to witness the procession with the hope of touching the miraculous image of the Black Nazarene. In addition to the report, hundreds of trash were left by the devotees at the Quirino Grandstand.
