After his 6 year journey with Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, PBA Player Chris Tiu official said goodbye to basketball. KAMI learned that Tiu expressed his emotions on social media.
According to his tweet, “It’s now time to move on. My heart is full. #17 signing off...”
As reported by Rappler, Tiu ended his career with Rain or Shine with season high 30 points.
Tiu was selected 7th overall in the 2012 PBA Rookie Draft. He started off his career back when he was the star player of Ateneo Blue Eagles and led the game during the 2008 UAAP Finals.
In 2010, Tiu became a part of Gilas Pilipinas according to a report by ESPN. He also brought home gold medal in 2011 SEABA and Southeast Asian Games. In 2011, he got a bronze in Jones Cup.
The Rain or Shine player also performed during the 2018 Asian Game in Jakart. In a report by KAMI before, Tiu shared his feelings about the Philippine national team’s loss vs. South Korea.
According to Tiu, it was “painful” and that they could’ve brought home a medal for Philippines since it was his last time playing in an international competition.
