After 14 days of reigning the Philippine cinemas, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2018 has finally come to its end.
KAMI learned that the mind-staggering amount of the festival’s gross as well as the film that allegedly ranked first were exposed to public.
According to the reports by PEP.ph, MMFF 2018 has already exceeded the one-billion mark after two weeks of showing its films to moviegoers.
Although the exact figure has yet to be disclosed, it was revealed that the earnings this year already surpassed the total income made in 2017’s film festival.
The movie of Vice Ganda entitled, “Fantastica” is rumored to edge out the other entries in terms of the total gross.
The comedian even hinted on a Twitter post dated January 2 that his film already reached the 400-million mark.
Following “Fantastica” was the entry of Coco Martin, Vic Sotto, and Maine Mendoza entitled, “Jack Em Popoy.”
The movies of Anne Curtis and the Gonzaga sisters allegedly placed third and fourth, respectively.
In a previous article by KAMI, it was resported that “Fantastica” and “Jack Em Popoy” were going head-to-head in clinching the number one spot.
The MMFF 2018 is already the 44th instalment of the festival in the Philippines. It began showing its eight films on December 25.
