Halalan 2019: Top 12 Senatorial bets according to latest SWS survey

- The Social Weather Stations (SWS) conducted a survey during the second week of December

- According to the result, Senators Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe were leading the Senatorial race

- The last to enter the “Magic 12” was Sen. JV Ejercito

Senators Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe continue to lead the Senatorial race according to the recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey. KAMI learned that the SWS conducted a survey from December 16 to 19 in order to know who were able to make it in the “Magic 12” by far.

Villar garnered 62% or around 37 million votes, why Poe had 60% votes or 36.4 million votes as reported by Inquirer. Placing third were Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano, Senator Sonny Angara, and Nancy Binay, getting 40% voter preference.

In a report by Philippine Star, action star and former Sen. Lito Lapid got 38%, making it at the 6th place. Sen. Koko Pimentel and former Sen. Jinggoy Estrada both placed 8th and 9th, with 34% voter preference.

Landing at the 10th spot was former Interior secretary Mar Roxas with 28%. Ilocos Governor Imee Marcos placed 11th with 27% voter preference. Last to enter the “Magic 12” was Sen. JV Ejercito with 28% or 15,000 votes.

Those who almost made it to the Top 12 was Sen. Bam Aquino and former Sen. Serge Osmeña, making it to the 13th and 14th places. Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte’s allies, former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Bong Go and former PNP chief Bato dela Rosa tied, making it to the 14th and 15h places.

In a previous report by KAMI, there were 152 who were aspiring to become a senator and filed their certificate of candidacy. Some of these were former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, OPM singer Freddie Aguilar, Dr. Willie Ong, and former Sen. Bong Revilla.
