Coco Martin got a positive review from international best-selling author Paolo Coelho.
KAMI learned that Paolo gave a rave review to a movie of Coco entitled “Kinatay.”
The writer tweeted that Kinatay is one of the most disturbing films he watched this year, praising the movie’s script, direction and acting.
He added that the movie would have been nominated for an Oscar if it was directed by Quentin Tarantino.
“One of the most disturbing movies I watched in 2018 - great screenplay, director, actors.
“A Filipino movie that, if it was directed by Tarantino, would be shortlisted for the Oscar,” Paolo tweeted.
The movie’s director, Brillante Mendoza, thanked the author for his kind words:

As reported earlier by KAMI, Coco’s new movie Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles is in a box office battle with Vice Ganda’s Fantastica for the top spot.
The action-comedy movie, directed by Mike Tuviera, opened on December 25, Christmas Day, nationwide.
The film also stars Vic Sotto, Maine Mendoza, Arjo Atayde, Ryza Cenon and Wally Bayola.
