Michael de Mesa mourns death of his father-in-law

Michael de Mesa revealed on social media that his father-in-law, Raymund Reyes, has passed away.
KAMI learned that Michael also wrote a message for Raymund, the father of his wife Julie Reyes-Eigenmann.
The veteran actor promised Raymund that he would take care of Julie and his granddaughter.
“Rest In Peace, Daddy Raymund. I promise to take good care of your daughter @julie_eigenmann and granddaughter @bananayuki like you asked me to. We will miss you,” Michael wrote.
Julie also shared her feelings on social media about her dad’s death.
“I am feeling a lot less wonderful this season as I stumble through the grief of losing my Dad on Christmas Day. Trying my very best to accept the unexpectedness and unfairness of it all. I am feeling so overwhelmed and I’m using every coping skill I can come up with just to get through it. Today, I find peace writing about him.
“Just a few months ago, my daddy texted me, ‘If anything happens, just remember I love all of you my children.’ He’s been saying that a lot to us this year actually. He was never big on the ‘I-love-yous’. That’s just how he was. Which makes hearing it more precious.
“Daddy, I miss you terribly already. The pain is unbearable right now, but I know you would want me to be strong for Mama Net and my younger siblings. I somehow hear your voice in the back of my head telling me to watch over our family. And I will, daddy. I promise.
“Rest peacefully now in the arms of our Lord. I love you so much and I will be thinking of you always until we meet again,” she posted.

Michael de Mesa is the sibling of Cherie Gil and the late actor Mark Gil.
He used to be married to actress Gina Alajar before tying the knot with Julie in 2011. Gina and Michael have three children – Ryan, Geoff and AJ Eigenmann.
