Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte lambasted some QC residents who are complaining and comparing the free school supplies given by the city government. They were comparing it with the free school supplies distributed in Makati City.

“Sa mga nagrereklamo na bakit walang shoes, bota, rubber shoes, PE uniform, school uniform, kapote at allowance, sa Makati nalang po kayo tumira. These are all provided for there. Mas malaki po ang kanilang pondo at kakaunti lang po ang mamamayan nila," she wrote.

The mayor also explained that Makati has less population compared to Quezon City. She stressed that QC is 6 times bigger than that of Makati when it comes to the number of population.

Another problem she cited is the 250, 000 informal settler families in their city.

She also stressed that she is a newly elected official ang that the budget is under the former mayor's control.
