Former Senate President Edgardo J. Angara
Through Twitter, Senator Sonny Angara announced that his father, former Senate President Edgardo J. Angara passed away last May 12 at the age of 83 due to heart attack.
As reported by Inquirer, the former Senate President was also the special envoy of the government to the European Union. It was back in 1993 when he was appointed as the Senate President.
Former National Security Adviser Jose Roilo S. Golez
Last June 11, former lawmaker and National Security Adviser Jose Roilo S. Golez passed away due to heart attack at the age of 71.
Golez was a Congressman of Parañaque City since 1992 to 2001. He was also the security adviser of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo from 2001 to 2004.
Former Kalinga Rep. Manuel Agyao
Former congressman, Kalinga Rep. Manuel Agyao passed away last June 22 due to pneumonia at the age of 77.
Agyao served as regional director and assistant secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Former Court of Appeals Justice Ricardo Puno Sr.
The family of former Court of Appeals Associate Justice Ricardo Puno Sr. confirmed that he passed away last July 25 at the age of 95.
Puno is survived by his wife and his 13 children. He served as an Associate Justice from 1973 to 1978. He also became as Minister of Justice back in 1979 to 1984.
Former Laguna 3rd District Rep. Florante “Boy” Aquino
Few hours before President Rodrigo Duterte’s State of the Nation Address (SONA), former Laguna 3rd District Rep. Boy Aquino passed away due to heart failure at the age of 68.
Aquino was a congressman for three terms since 1988. He also became a city mayor from 2001 to 2004.
Former Ambassador Jose Apolinario Lozada Jr.
Former Ambassador Jose Apolinario Lozada Jr. died last July 31 at the age of 67 due to brain haemorrhage. Lozada was a Philippine envoy to Austria, Palau and the Holy See.
Lozada also served as a Congressman for two terms in Negros Occidental. He was also a foreign affairs adviser during the Ramos administration.
Kabayan Party-list Representative Ciriaco Calalang
Lawyer and former Kabayan Party-list Rep. Ciriarco Calalang passed away last September 23 at the age of 67. In a report by Inquirer, Calalang had a “massive stroke” a week before he died and went through surgery.
Calalang was a taxation lawyer and he also used to be a law professor.
Former Makati City Councilor Rico J. Puno
The “Total Entertainer” and former Makati City Councilor Enrico “Rico” J. Puno passed away last October 30 at the age of 65 due to heart attack as reported by KAMI.
Aside from being an iconic OPM singer, Rico J. was a councillor for three consecutive terms since 1998 to 2007. He was re-elected back in 2016.
