Almost 800 pre-shaded ballots were found in Datu Saudi Ampatuan town in Maguindanao on Monday, May 9, according to a lawyer for the United Nationalist Alliance.
Speaking to the Inquirer, Atty Kampo Amor, the legal counsel for Maguindanao gubernatorial candidate Ali Midtimbang said that their volunteers uncovered 787 pre-shaded ballots.
According to Amor, they have already filed a protest with the Commission on Elections. He did not divulge the contents of the pre-shaded ballots.
Amor added that similar cases in the town of Pagagawan, Maguindanao were also discovered.
In Sultan Kudarat, pre-shaded ballots were also found at the Maguindanao Elementary School in Barangay Katuli, according to a report from ABS-CBN.
Past six in the morning, 20 unidentified men stole the vote counting machine and other election paraphernalia at the Maguindanao Elementary School. The pre-shaded ballots were also taken.
Sultan Kudarat election officer Estelita Obase said she is coordinating with the provincial election supervisor. Around 600 voters in Barangay Katuli were unable to vote.
