Catriona Gray’s slo-mo turn during her swimsuit walk at both the prelims and the competition round of Miss Universe 2018 has become one of her most iconic moments.

KAMI learned that her preparation for that twirl was filled with pain and tears.

In an interview on the ABS-CBN show “Tonight With Boy Abunda,” beauty queen Nicole Cordoves revealed that Catriona suffers from scoliosis.

For this reason, she felt so much pain while practicing her iconic slo-mo turn.

“May scolio siya, Tito Boy. So yung first few practices niya talaga, umiiyak siya kasi yung posture pa lang na you’re gonna pull yourself like this para straight na straight yung body mo and you get the curves, ang hirap para sa kaniya,” Nicole revealed.

Netizens were impressed by Catriona’s determination to perfect the walk despite her medical condition that affects her spine:

“Knowing na may scolio din si Cat. I’m so overwhelmed coz we have the same problem. I’m so proud and inspired by her. truly nothing’s impossible as long as you believe”

“ANG GALING. NI DI KO MAN LANG NAPANSIN NA MAY SCOLIO SIYA. GALING MO CAT AND KUYA CALOY!”

“She deserves it!!! We're proud of youuuu CATRIONAAAAA GRAAAY!”
