- Allan Caidic proved once again that he is the greatest shooter ever in Philippines
- He recently scored 142 points in an exhibition game
- According to Caidic, it was his fellow legends and coaches who encouraged him to break his previous record
Knows as one of the best shooters ever in the Philippines, Allan “The Triggerman” Caidic showed that he still got those mad skills in basketball. At the age of 55, Caidic dropped 46 three-pointers at the recent exhibition game with former PBA players as well.
KAMI learned that according to the report of Manila Bulletin it was the fellow PBA legends along with coaches Gerry Esplana and Pido Jarencio who pushed him to do his exemplary performance.
“Sina Gerry Esplana at Pido ang nagbuyo sa akin," said Caidic.
"Sabi nila, break ko raw ang three-point record," he added as reported by Spin.ph.
Caidic also shared that it was just a fun game for him.
Caidic was a player in the University of the East before he joined PBA. In 1987, he joined the Great Taste Coffee Makers or Presto Tivoli and was awarded as the PBA Rookie of the Year.
On November 21, 1991, Caidic made his record breaking performance when he scored 79 points during the game of Presto Tivoli against Ginebra San Miguel.
Back in 1993, he was acquired by the San Miguel Beermen. In 2000 he retired as a player in PBA. However, he became the head coach of Barangay Ginebra Kings.
Even the NBA legend Glen Rice was impressed by the skills of Caidic. In 2010 NBA Asia Basketball Challenge, Caidic defeated Rice in a three-point shooting contest, 7-5.
