Cebuano voter died waiting in line

It was a heart-wrenching day in Cebu City when a 46-year-old voter died of cardiac arrest while waiting in line to vote on Monday, May 9.

The voter was identified as Teresita Tagalog Tanieza, a resident of Barangay Carreta.

Tanieza collapsed in the waiting area around 7:30 AM.

The police immediately called the Emergency Medical Services. Tanieza was then rushed to the hospital. However, she was declared dead on arrival.

Tanieza is one of the 2,722,288 registered voters in the most vote-rich province in the country. In Cebu City alone, 630,003 voters are registered.
