Senator Antonio Trillanes IV posted a bail for the libel case filed by Presidential son and former Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte in a Davao Court. KAMI learned from GMA News that Trillanes has settled the payment at the Pasay Regional Trial Court Branch 118.
KAMI brings this news to the readers as an update regarding the libel case of Trillanes and Duterte.
In a report by CNN Philippines, Trillanes paid P96,000 for four counts of libel. The court gave a fixed P24,000 for each count of libel.
The arrest warrant against Trillanes was issued the same day former Senator Bong Revilla was acquitted for his plunder case.
"Baliktad ang hustisya sa gobyerno ni Duterte. Ang mga mandarambong ay pinalaya na. Ang mga kritiko naman ay gagawan ng kaso para pilit na maikulong," said Trillanes.
In a previous report by KAMI, a Davao court issued an arrest warrant against Trillanes. This was days after the Makati court allowed Trillanes to travel abroad upon paying the P200,000 travel bond.
This was the second time Trillanes posted bail since President Rodrigo Duterte revoked the amnesty of the senator through Proclamation No. 572. The revocation led to re-open the cases of Trillanes with regard to Oakwood mutiny and Manila Peninsula siege.
