Former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla has been found “not guilty” by the Sandiganbayan over the plunder raps thrown against him in relation to the “Pork Barrel Scam.”

KAMI learned that the justices had a majority vote of 3-2 from its Special Division to finally free the former Senator on December 7.

It can be remembered that one of the bases for involving Bong in the controversial PDAF scam was the paper trail he signed which endorsed the bogus NGO’s created by Janet Lim Napoles.

Because of this, the actor-turned-politician was said to have pocketed P224.5 million worth of kickbacks from the aforementioned scam.

However, a handwriting expert in the name of Desiderio Pagui claimed in an open-court examination that the signatures in the questioned documents were forged.

This became the alleged primary reason why the justices believed that the statement of the said handwriting expert must be respected and used in hearing the case.

It is stated in the 186-page ruling that there was an evident difference between the standard signature of Bong and that which the Prosecutors presented as evidence.

“A comparison between the questioned document and the standard signatures would show that there are significant differences between the standard signatures and the questioned signatures as found in the endorsement letters,” the written decision quipped.

In a previous article by KAMI, a lot of netizens expressed their opinions and comments on the acquittal of former “Ang Panday” star.

Born on September 25, 1966, Bong Revilla is a seasoned Filipino actor who tried his luck in national politics when he ran for a Senate seat in 2004. Before he became a Senator, he was appointed as the Chairman of Videogram Regulatory Board.
