President Rodrigo Duterte said during his speech that almost 90 percent of the Catholic priests are homosexuals. KAMI learned that the President threw another criticisms to the priests of the Catholic Church during his speech at the Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas in Malacañang.

“No offense intended, I have so many relatives who are gay. I have two brothers-in-law who are gay, but most of the priests there are homosexuals. Almost 90 percent of you, so do not postulate on immorality," said the President.
President Duterte reiterated that the Catholic church is the “most hypocritical institution” in the Philippines.
“The most hypocritical institution in the entire Philippines is the Catholic church and the pope knows that,” he stated.
In a report by Reuters, Pope Francis said that gay priests should either leave from priesthood or remain true to celibacy.
As previously reported by KAMI, Pope Francis praised the Philippines as one of the “great Catholic nations” in the world. This was days after President Duterte anew his tirades against the Catholic church.
